This may seem like a basic serger, but you will sew beautiful 4-thread Overlock stitches and 3-thread Rolled Hems with confidence and precision. 3-Thread and 4-Thread Capability
This means you can complete 3-thread and 4-thread Overlock stitches as well as Flatlock stitches and Rolled Hems. You can even do a Blind Hem and create lettuce edges.
Built-in Threading Chart
Skip the headache and serge confidently, knowing there is a built-in threading chart. No need to constantly refer to the manual. These diagrams are easy to read and color-coded.
Changeable Thread Guide
This feature ensures the ability to customize hems and decorative edges. Adjust the tension setting of any needle or looper to fit the fabric type, stitch type, or thread type.
Adjustable Cutting Width
Do you want a bold statement hem or a dainty narrow hem? With the 8002D, your edges can be finished at any width between 3.0 to 5.0 mm from the right needle position, depending upon your sewing needs or the fabric being used.
ADJUSTABLE DIFFERENTIAL FEED & Stitch Length
Even with stretchy fabrics like knits and georgettes, you can easily create professional-level finishes by adjusting the differential feed. This feature allows you to fine-tune how the material is fed through your machine and helps to prevent puckering or distorting. It works by making the front and rear feed dogs move at different speeds. Set the dial to 1.0 for regular sewing, lower numbers for fine fabrics, and higher numbers for stretchy fabrics.
Adjustable Foot Pressure
Not all fabric is serged with the same foot pressure, and with the ability to serge up to 1300 stitches per minute the adjustable foot pressure is a game changer. With the 8002D, pressure can be easily adjusted for smoother feeding.
Quick Change Rolled Hem
Rolled hems are one of the best features a serger has to offer. Save time by quickly converting from an Overlock stitch to a Rolled Hem and back to an Overlock stitch again!
5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Janome America, Inc. will ensure your serger's performance for 25 years from when the machine is purchased. Coverage is limited to repair or necessary replacement of parts caused by defects in workmanship and materials. Faults in electrical components are covered for 5 years. 1 year of free labor by an Authorized Janome Retailer is included, usually by the dealership where you purchased your machine.
