This drawstring pouch is the perfect accessory for when you want to be hands free for activities. In class, you will be provided a pattern to make a flat-back pouch with darts, a drawstring closure, and belt loops on the back. You have the option to modify the belt loops on the bag to a long or short strap but will need to bring additional supplies.

Class skill level: Confident Beginner

This class includes a pattern to take home, and the stiff interlining required to give the pouch shape.

Supply List:

Sewing machine in good working order with a straight stitch and a buttonhole
Your regular sewing accessories (pins, scissors, marking tools, etc.)
Microtex needles in a size 80/12 or 90/14
½ yard mediumweight woven fabric for outer shell (Quilting cottons are fine, but something a little heavier is ideal. Upcycled tablecloths or curtains are a great choice!)*
½ yard lightweight woven fabric in a light color for lining*
1 yard 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch grosgrain ribbon
1 yard of extra wide (1inch wide) single fold bias binding. (You can also use ½ wide double fold bias binding and iron it flat)

*All fabrics should be pre-washed for this project. (While stretchy and sheer fabrics are fun, they are not optimal for this project, bring them at your own risk)
