Lauren's Wavy Quilted Vest | Roseville

In this class, you will be creating a quilted vest with a wavy bias-binding finish and patch pockets on the front (Ribbon tie is optional). Students will start out quilting their fabric, then cut and assemble their vest pattern pieces, and finish off with a contrasting bias binding finish. We will be using the Free Wavy Quilted Vest pattern from Matchy Matchy

Level: Confident beginner to Intermediate

Supply List:

Sewing machine in good working order with a walking foot
Quilting needles in a size 90/14
Fabric needs to be prewashed before class if you intend on washing the final garment

2 yards of outer fashion fabric (Quilting cotton or equivalent woven)*
2 yards of inner lining fabric (Quilting cotton or equivalent woven)*
If you want to use a pre-existing quilt, please contact lauren@meissnersewing.com

50 weight Mettler thread (Polyester or Cotton, polyester is more durable over time)
9-12 yards of ½ inch double fold bias binding (3-4 packs of the pre-made kind)**
Safety pins (Curved quilting safety pins or regular)
Basic sewing kit notions (Scissors, pins, marking tools, etc.)
Optional: 1 yard ribbon of choice for a tie in the front
This Vest Pattern printed, tiled, and cut out in your size of choice.

*This project is quilted, so quilting fabrics are ideal.

**Binding MUST be bias binding as we will be attaching it around curves. You are welcome to make your own to match your project, but there will not be class time allocated for this
