Join us in making a stylish witchy hat perfect for brewing up trouble, or just a sassy day on the town. Whether you need a last minute costume for Halloween, or you want to add a new piece to your regular rotation, this hat is a crown pleaser.
In this class, you'll cut and construct a pointed hat with a brim, complete with lining and topstitching. The pattern is included and will be provided when you enter class.
While decorations are not necessary, they are very fun, and you will have the option to add them as you please.
This class is perfect for the confident beginner, intermediate, and advanced sewists.
This class is ages 16+, please reach out to lauren@miessnersewing.com for any questions.
Student supply list:
- Sewing machine in good working order with a straight stitch
- 1 yard woven fashion fabric*
- 1 yard woven fabric for lining (you can use the same fabric for both!)*
- Matching thread (Mettler 50wt cotton or polyester)
- 1 yard medium weight fusible interfacing (Pellon 808 craft fuse is a great option)
- Optional supplies: ribbon or faux flowers for decoration. Accent fabric to make a decorative band or rosette. Wire for a moldable brim.
*A note on fabrics: please look for basic woven fabrics that don't wiggle or warp. Stretchy and silky fabrics can be fun, however bring these at your own risk. Please email lauren@meissnersewing.com for any questions/comments/concerns about fabric choice.
