What does "QE" stand for?
QE stands for Quilter’s Edition. The machine includes quilting-specific features like Patchwork Foot #37, an extension table, and a knee-lift (Free Hand System) so you can raise and lower the presser foot without taking your hands off your fabric.
What size is the stitch width, and why does it matter?
The machine has a 5.5mm maximum stitch width. This narrower width means the feed dogs are closer together, which provides exceptional control and precision when piecing intricate, small quilt blocks.
Does the 475 QE have a dual-feed system or walking foot?
No, the 475 QE does not have the built-in Bernina Dual Feed (BDF) system found on the B570 QE or larger 7-series machines, and a walking foot is not included as standard. However, you can purchase an optional walking foot (#50) if needed for thick quilts or slippery fabrics.
