Sewing for a Cause: Fidget Blankets | Sacramento | March 21st

We're bringing back our popular Fidget Blanket charity sewing class!

Join us on March 21st in making Fidget Blanket squares to make into lap quilts for the Alzheimer's Association. We will walk you through what goes into making a successful fidget blanket square, and help you make at least 6 different squares over the course of the day. After the workshop, the Meissner education team will compile the squares into finished lap quilts to donate to the Alzheimer's association!

Bring your own sewing machine, and we'll provide the rest!

"In a study conducted by Mukerrem K. Yildiz, PhD, and Ayse Cal, PhD, on March 22, 2022, researchers aimed to understand the impact of the Alzheimer’s Blanket Activity Program (ABAP) on individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. The focus was on behavioral symptoms, daily activities, and overall quality of life.

Results indicated positive changes in the daily life activities, quality of life, and neuropsychiatric symptom scores among individuals with Alzheimer’s disease after participating in the program." -Alzheimer's Lab
