Does the Soprano have an automatic pivot/floating feature?
Yes! When activated, this feature keeps the needle down in the fabric but automatically lifts the presser foot slightly when you stop sewing. This allows you to smoothly pivot your fabric around corners without manually lifting the presser lever.
How do I do Free Motion Quilting (FMQ) without skipped stitches?
The Soprano performs beautifully for FMQ if set up correctly, but it can be finicky if your layers aren't secured. Make sure you are using a sharp or topstitch needle (size 90/14 or 80/12), drop your feed dogs, and use a dedicated free-motion or darning foot. If your foot is adjustable, ensure it isn't set too high off the fabric.
How many built-in stitches does it have?
The Soprano comes with 300 built-in stitches, including utility stitches, 94 decorative stitches, 17 satin stitches, and 5 built-in alphabets/fonts for personalization.
