Do I have to use the Artspira app for the machine to function?
Yes. The Brother Skitch has no onboard LCD screen, physical control buttons, or USB ports. All design placement, scaling, editing, and machine commands are handled strictly through a Bluetooth connection with the Brother Artspira Mobile App on a smartphone or tablet.
What is the maximum embroidery field?
It features a 4” x 4” maximum embroidery area. Buyers hoping to transition into large jacket backings should note that any design larger than 4x4 inches requires physical fabric re-hooping and manual segment aligning.
Can it embroider thick garments or hats?
It features a free-arm chassis configuration, making it highly nimbler at slipping onto tubular blanks like t-shirt sleeves, socks, and bucket hats. However, it is restricted to soft materials under 2mm in physical thickness; heavily structured baseball caps or thick canvas bags will pucker or strike the needle plate.
