Is this a combination machine or embroidery only?
It is a true dual-function combination machine. It handles heavy-duty garment sewing, complex quilting, and high-speed embroidery. It transitions between modes by attaching or removing the embroidery arm.
How much space does it have for quilting?
It features an expansive 11.25" needle-to-arm throat space. This gives you plenty of room to roll up and manipulate thick, king-sized quilts or bulky heavy-duty jackets during regular sewing.
Does it have a built-in camera for design placement?
Unlike Brother’s higher-tier Stellaire or Luminaire models, the VM5200 does not have an onboard camera or support the My Design Snap app. Instead, it uses an included Droplight LED Positioning Marker—a specialized foot that shines a red crosshair onto your fabric to show exactly where the needle will drop.
